How have changes in book reviewing altered the environment for historians who hope to write, at least in part, for audiences outside the academy? Have they influenced the sorts of books that are getting written? How have they affected relationships between authors and publishers, for instance when it comes to promoting books? How have online publishing and social media influenced practices of book reviewing? How has the environment changed for small magazines that address intellectual, but not necessarily academic audiences? What changes are likely over the coming years?
