This paper will examine the how Latin American and Caribbean Historians scholars have employed the Louisiana Slave Database in their research. With fields for ethnicity, skills and gender, among other things, Hall’s large and publically-accessible database contains information that allows historians to draw very different conclusions than from data they can locate anywhere else.
