Session Abstract

How many times have you signed a copyright agreement with a journal? Or clicked ‘yes’ on a creative commons license? Has your publisher reached out and asked if your book or article can be part of a new Large Language Model (LLM) training initiative? Do you know what any of these agreements mean? What are your rights when it comes to your writing?

This roundtable brings together experts in intellectual property and publishing, and it will delve into what historians and writers need to know about their rights in a rapidly changing publishing landscape. The roundtable will address questions related to copyright, creative commons licenses, fair use, and intellectual property rights within the university setting, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) and scholarly publishing.
