Shortly after the US entered WWI, Black soldiers at Houston’s Camp Logan participated in a “riot.” In the largest court martial in US history (110 men), the government executed 19 men and imprisoned 63. Increasing public awareness of the injustices done to these soldiers is an important step in memorializing the victims.
