Join a curator-led tour of the Center for Women’s History at the New-York Historical Society, the first of its kind within the walls of a major museum. Learn about the research and development of the current exhibition Real Clothes, Real Lives: 200 Years of What Women Wore, the Smith College Historic Clothing Collection and current installations, including Circulating Control: Women’s Book Battles 1880–1930 and Generating Star Power: How Billie Jean King and Venus and Serena Williams Remade Tennis.. Curators will discuss the process of collecting and archiving women’s history and how the center unearths the lives and legacies of women who have shaped and continue to shape the American experience.
Please note: The group will travel to New-York Historical Society by subway. The closest subway station is accessible only by stairs; alternate transportation is available on request. The museum is ADA compliant.
