Session Abstract

The AHA's Committee on Minority Historians recently updated its name to the Committee on Racial and Ethnic Equity. Given the current context of movements to dismantle and rename higher education work in diversity, equity, and inclusion relating to critical racial studies, how have historians grappled with issues of racial and ethnic equity, especially as educators and scholars? This roundtable will feature a panel of historians in higher education who will share their insights and reflect on the potential, challenges, and opportunities for both the committee and interconnected initiatives for equity in the discipline.
We welcome any questions and suggestions for this roundtable session.
