Session Abstract

This session will explore three different approaches to teaching a keystone text: Mahatma Gandhi’s Speech on ‘The Secret of Satyagraha in South Africa’ addressing nonviolent resistance. How might students encounter this work in a disciplinary history class, a class with explicit civic learning outcomes, or one with a general humanistic or classics framework?
