This four-part facilitated discussion series examines a variety of career transitions within the historical discipline. During these interactive conversations, attendees will engage in discussions about their own professional experiences and share advice and insights on navigating pivotal career shifts. Sessions focus on four career transitions: session 1 on the shift from graduate school to positions inside or outside the academy; session 2 on strategies for navigating mid career transitions, including the shift from assistant to associate professor; session 3 on considerations for transitioning out of academia; and session 4 on preparing for retirement from academia.
