Session Abstract

Debates over “divisive concepts” in high school classrooms may seem unique to American politics; however, similar debates around the meanings of “race” and “nation” have unfolded in other parts of the world. Exactly what are “divisive concepts”? And what lessons can we learn from places like Brazil and New Zealand?
