Session Abstract

Acquisitions editors from leading university presses address a range of issues involved in publishing a monograph, in a roundtable format with plenty of time for questions. The presenters discuss, for example, how and when to approach an editor, tips for crafting a proposal, what to expect from the review process, and typical timelines for the review and production of a book. All the participants work at presses that are full members of the Association of University Presses, which is committed to best practices in scholarly publishing. This roundtable will be of interest not only to first-time authors but to more senior historians as well.
