Network Analysis and Historical Scholarship: Short Talks Session

AHA Session 218
Saturday, January 5, 2019: 3:30 PM-5:00 PM
Marquette Room (Hilton Chicago, Third Floor)
Chair:
Douglas Seefeldt, Ball State University

Session Abstract

Historians are increasingly turning to network analysis to ask new questions about community formation, political reach, social organizations, and even to identify geographic mobility and influence of both prominent and marginalized historical actors. This session will include six short talks that showcase a variety of projects and uses of network analysis in history and related fields. Each participant will have ten minutes to “lift the hood” on their digital projects, so to speak, and discuss the impact of network analysis on their research.
