Session Abstract

What has and hasn't changed for women who seek careers beyond the professoriate? When and how does gender play a role pursuing a history PhD and in building a career afterwards? Senior historians on the panel will discuss their experiences, good and bad, as women with PhDs pursuing careers beyond the professoriate. They are joined by a former deputy director of the AHA and the current director of the AHA's Career Diversity for Historians initiative.
