Avatar Learning as Applied History: Using Role Play to Develop Research Skills in Undergraduates

In this presentation, Heather Perry will discuss how she uses the Great War Avatar Project (GWAP) to help first semester freshman students shift from thinking of history as a subject primarily organized and based upon fact memorization to a discipline and practice which develops broad research skills applicable in multiple disciplines.
