Public Opinion and the Early Modern Interpretative Community

Salman will stress that studying public opinion formation in the early modern period requires that we do not only study printed media, but also try to reconstruct the way in which small networks of people were connected and how they communicated news, ideas and live experiences. We can define these networks as ‘interpretative communities’.
