Sculptor and designer Rob Firmin will talk about his motivations for working on historical monuments, the research process, the translation of historical perspective into sculpture, and the effect of the monuments. He was one of the sculptors of the Rosa Parks stature recently unveiled in the Capitol, and created a design for the Eisenhower Memorial as part of a challenge to the Gehry design.  His design won an award from the National Civic Art Society.
