My contribution will be a discussion of the Pathways Project San Antonio Social Studies team’s use of Texas College and Career Readiness Ready Standards (CCRS) to address P-16 alignment and college readiness in San Antonio.  While the incorporation of the CCRS into the new State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness examination (STAAR) has created some opportunities to positively transform history education in Texas public schools, taking full advantage of these opportunities remains a challenge. I will analyze the ways San Antonio area high schools are adjusting to the CCRS and STAAR and the role college faculty can play in this transition.
