Terence Fay, through a brief examination of the Second Vatican Council’s impact in the Philippines, will illustrate how local and national religious bodies were reorganized around an increased emphasis on the involvement of the laity in spiritual groups and practices, which will encourage discussion about how scholars should identify and evaluate connections between the transformations that occurred in Catholic communities throughout the world in the pre-Conciliar and post-Vatican II eras.
