Wayfinding and Polynesian Experimental Voyaging and Revival

Kalepa will discuss the rediscovery and practice of instrumentless navigation that is used on the experimental voyages undertaken by the Polynesian Voyaging Society. As a master navigator trained in the art of "wayfinding" as it has become known, Kalepa has a unique set of perspectives on this, and the broader significance of this art with regard to histories of settlement and seafaring.
