Research Councils UK and International Collaborative Research in the Humanities

Much research in the arts and humanities requires an active engagement with aspects of culture, history and heritage in different parts of the world. UK researchers - including early career researchers - also benefit more broadly from working with the best researchers and resources wherever they may be. For the UK's Arts and Humanities Research Council, supporting international collaborative research has involved lively engagement with other disciplines. Some of the challenges faced have cast light on the similarities and differences in funding routes available to US and UK arts and humanities researchers.
