This paper analyses the nature, themes and political characters depicted in political cartoons appearing in the Cuban magazines Bohemia and Zig-Zag and in the columns of Cuban humorist Eladio Secades. It addresses various topics pertaining to the role of visual political humor during the last year of Fulgencio Batista's dictatorship and the first two of the Castro Regime.
