Teaching Transatlantic History: Intercultural Transfers in the Age of the Nation State

The practice of transatlantic history in both researching and teaching requires a refocusing of historical inquiry. While past undergraduate and graduate courses have been organized within the context of national histories, the teaching of the interconnection and intercultural transfers between Europe and North America needs to be discussed within a topical framework (migration, transfer, etc) rather than in the context of nation states.
