Session Abstract
Cindy Ermus and Bryan A. Banks set up www.AgeofRevolutions.com in 2015. To mark its 10th anniversary, they published The Global Age of Revolutions: A History from 1650 to the Present (UVA Press, 2026), a groundbreaking collection of essays, drawn from the website and solicited from leading scholars. This volume challenges traditional definitions of the Age of Revolutions, identifies global trajectories and comparisons worthy of consideration, and begs the question if we still live in an Age of Revolutions. The participants in this session are all contributors to the volume themselves. They will elucidate the complexities of the volume’s main enterprise and Ermus and Banks will focus on the volume’s origin story. This roundtable is put together in conjunction with the Consortium on the Revolutionary Era.
