This presentation examines a partnership between faculty at universities in California and Taiwan that has generated sustained inter-campus engagement and pedagogical activity. It traces the development of the collaboration and highlights its educational and experiential outcomes, from a shared course experience to in-country visits. Using a Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) model, faculty remotely bring students together from three campuses, enrolled in three different courses, to collaborate on shared projects over the course of an academic term. The presentation reflects on both the opportunities and challenges of cross-cultural, cross-institutional collaboration and considers the broader possibilities of the COIL model for internationalized and experiential learning in higher education.
