Session Abstract
Tour leader: D. Bradford Hunt, Loyola University Chicago
The National Public Housing Museum, which opened in April 2025, is the first museum dedicated to interpreting American public housing. The tour will include a guided tour of three recreated apartments documenting the lives of former residents from 1938 and 1975. Participants will also visit the museum’s rotating exhibits on topics of public housing history and the lives of residents. The museum is a member of the International Coalition of Sites of Conscience and challenges visitors to “demand the impossible” in considering housing as a human right.
Please note: The group will travel to the museum by bus. The museum is fully accessible.
Limit 15 people. $50 members. $60 nonmembers.
