Between 1980 and 2000, Peru faced internal violence, with Sendero Luminoso (The Shining Path) responsible for 46% victims and state agents for 30%. Teaching this recent past is essential but politically sensitive. This presentation explores how history teachers navigate the challenge of addressing these difficult yet necessary topics in a polarized national context.
