In 2022, the Museum of the American Revolution partnered with the Free Library of Philadelphia to launch a new program called "Revolution at the Library!" This initiative is designed for students aged 6 to 11 and their families. It features engaging and curiosity-provoking activities centered on objects, documents, and stories that bring the events and people of the American Revolution to life—all at no cost to the libraries or their patrons.

In addition to the in-library programs, participating library patrons can attend regional field trips to the Museum. Participants and their families receive free transportation and admission, allowing them to continue their learning experience. Libraries also receive copies of "The History Explorer Gazette," which highlights the history of the Revolutionary Era throughout the Philadelphia area.

Starting in 2024, the Museum plans to expand its partnerships to include programming across the Delaware River with the Camden County Library System.

Over the past four summers, "Revolution at the Library!" has served more than 500 students across over 20 libraries. In this presentation, Family Programs Manager Rebecca Franco will utilize maps, graphs, hands-on objects, and photographs to demonstrate how she developed a series of programs that can easily be adapted for different library branches throughout the region. She will also share insights gathered from staff, librarians, and patrons regarding the opportunities and challenges of collaborating with both large and small libraries.
