Session Abstract
Filmmakers Ken Burns and Sarah Botstein, with screenwriter and historian Geoffrey Ward, will join will join historians and advisors Christopher Brown, Kathleen DuVal, and Alan Taylor to discuss their much-anticipated 6-part series, "The American Revolution," which they directed and produced with David Schmidt and which premieres on PBS in fall 2025. The session will include clips from the series and a conversation about the challenges and opportunities of telling the story of the Revolution in film. The filmmakers will also discuss the educational materials and outreach that will encourage and support conversations around the broadcast and throughout the 250th anniversary of the country in 2026.
