Session Abstract

This roundtable highlights historians who have transitioned into higher education administration relatively quickly after graduate school. People on the job will share insights, challenges, and successes. As academia evolves, the role of administrators becomes increasingly vital in shaping institutional policies, fostering academic excellence, and advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Drawing on diverse backgrounds and career paths, panelists will reflect on their motivations for transitioning into administration, the skills and experiences from their historical training that have proven invaluable, and the unique perspectives they bring to their administrative roles.
