Session Abstract

This session will provide perspectives on important aspects of the social media landscape today, and the history behind how we got here. Panelists will focus on key pieces of legislation that shaped how social media platforms have developed, including the 1996 Telecommunications Act and Section 230. Other topics of discussion will include issues relating to authentication and watermarking and how social media has affected the very democracy we live in.
