Session Abstract
Inspired by Barbara Savage’s Merze Tate: The Global Odyssey of a Black Woman Scholar (Yale, 2023),

American women. Panelists will speak from their experiences as scholars whose work represent a rich
variety of approaches to researching and writing the lives of a diverse group of black women.
