Session Abstract

“New Directions in Slavery and University Studies" will explore new directions in the study of relationship between slavery and universities. Speakers will include historians engaged in the Yale & Slavery Project (Crystal Feimster); The Slavery, Colonialism, and their Legacies at Tufts Project (Kyera Singleton); Harvard and the Legacy of Slavery (Kabria Baumgartner); the MIT and Slavery Project (Craig Wilder); and Duke University (Bob Korstad). This roundtable welcomes engagement with regional and institutional specificities as well as substantive historical connections across time and place.
