Session Abstract

This Lightning Round session will feature representatives from the schools that revised their undergraduate survey courses in the “History Gateways” project. Following the Lightning Round format, the participants in this session will briefly describe their main findings from the process of rethinking and redesigning these courses with an emphasis on applying these results to invigorate student learning. The main work of the session will be engaging audience members to identify their efforts, challenges, successes and failures in improving student outcomes and achievement as well as retention rates. Faculty interested in the course redesign process and those who are doing this work are especially encouraged to participate.
