Session Abstract

This roundtable brings together five educational innovators with diverse backgrounds in teaching and curriculum design to discuss the various and interrelated ethical concerns at play in the production of course materials for high school, community college, and introductory-level college classrooms. Featured speakers will consider topics ranging from the longstanding blindspots and structural prejudices of particular fields, to the delicate but essential question of funding behind curriculum-creation initiatives, to today’s highly politicized and contentious debates regarding American origin stories (such as 1619 Project) and the role of CRT in the classroom.
