Session Abstract

In the ongoing battle over "divisive concepts" legislation in schools, historians find themselves on the front lines. This panel will provide historical context for this controversy and will equip historians with the tools they need to advocate effectively for the professional integrity of history education in the United States. The panel will include historians who combine subject area expertise on relevant issues with experience in legislative and local school board environments.
