Nick Spitzer, Tulane University and producer and host, American Routes
Nick Spitzer, Tulane University professor of anthropology, producer and host of the public radio program American Routes, will speak interpretively about New Orleans, French Louisiana, and Gulf South music in historic and cultural terms. He will play exemplary archival clips of oral histories and music supported by images of artists and related settings of club life, ritual, second lines, and carnival. The focus will be on the complexity of cultural creolization in historic and current settings.
