Session Abstract

For nearly forty years, Research 1 universities have developed partnerships with Historically Black Colleges and Universities to enhance the number of black graduate students in their doctoral programs. These pipeline programs are directly responsible for a significant number of black Ph.Ds. in the field of history. Thus, this panel will look at best practices related to establishing pipeline programs between HBCUs and R1 universities, and the importance of maintaining these relationships in the twenty-first century.
