Session Abstract

With more presses offering open access (OA) options for monographs, there is an urgent need for better information about open access publishing. This round table will provide an opportunity for attendees to learn about and discuss OA monograph publishing with an editor and historians who have actually published an open access work. Participants will talk about their reasons for choosing OA, their experience of publishing, and the benefits and drawbacks of these new business models. Aiming to provide experiential information about OA publishing, dispelling myths, the session will be a frank discussion of the opportunities afforded by this new form of publishing.
