A screening of Rumble: The Indians Who Rocked the World, an award-winning 2017 documentary about the untold story of the Indigenous influence on American popular music. A roundtable discussion about creating the documentary, using it in the classroom, and how it provides a more complete understanding of this chapter on the history of American music will follow the screening.

Session Abstract

This experimental session will include a screening of Rumble: The Indians Who Rocked the World, an award-winning 2017 documentary about the untold story about the Indigenous influence on American popular music. Following the screening will be a roundtable discussion about creating the documentary, using it in the classroom, and how it provides a more complete understanding of this chapter on the history of American music.
