During WWII, African Americans took a stand to fight not only for the war, but for equal rights with everyone else. The Double “V” Campaign and the proposed March on Washington brought attention to the cause and led President Franklin D. Roosevelt and Harry S.Truman to issue orders forbidding discrimination.
