Brumfield’s remarks will focus on current challenges and opportunities in digital edition technologies. While efforts like the Civil War Governors of Kentucky Digital Documentary Edition and the Digital Austin Papers make use of exciting new techniques to allow researchers to interact with primary sources, how sustainable are the resulting editions when continued funding is unpredictable at best? Brumfield will address the options available to editors concerned about making digital editions as easy to preserve as traditional print.
