Mile High Ballroom 4A (Colorado Convention Center, Ballroom Level)
Chairs:

Philippa Levine, University of Texas at Austin

Session Abstract

This session will be an opportunity for people interested in the role of mental health in the lives of historians to come together in a supportive atmosphere to discuss challenges and opportunities. Mental illness is common, difficult, and hidden. Stigma discourages people with mental from seeking treatment and making their conditions public. Our goal is to acknowledge its frequency and reduce its difficulties by opening a discussion about mental health and its impact on our profession. We hope those who have experienced mental illness, advisors, department chairs, partners, friends, the curious, and those who want to show support for the cause will join us.
