Session Abstract

As practitioners and stakeholders, how can we effectively respond to the challenge/crisis confronting the historical profession?  How can we recruit more history majors and attract more students to history courses?  What kinds of capstone projects should we design/develop so as to help history majors make a seamless transition from college to career?  How can we redesign/restructure history curriculum to better meet the needs of students and society?  These are some of the questions that the roundtable intends to address.  Of course, the answer to these questions has a direct bearing on how we define history, an issue that we would also explore during the roundtable discussion.
