The Michigan State Vietnam Project: From Proposal to Digital Archive
Thursday, January 7, 2016: 4:50 PM
Salon C (Hilton Atlanta)
The rise of the digital humanities has made collaborative, institutional grants a much more central part of the early careers of humanities faculty than in the past. For these early career faculty, many of whom have little to no experience in the world of digital humanities, the prospect of obtaining and carrying out such a project can be daunting. This presentation will trace the life of one recent digital history project from the original idea to the launching of the digital archive, with a particular focus on the challenges and opportunities such projects offer for early career faculty in the humanities.
