Sarah Henry, Museum of the City of New York
Mae M. Ngai, Columbia University
Annie Polland, Lower East Side Tenement Museum
Hosted by the New-York Historical Society, in conjunction with its exhibition Chinese American: Exclusion/Inclusion, this roundtable will consider scholarship on global migration patterns, notions of exclusion and inclusion, and the nuanced roles of race and class in immigration narratives. Panelists will discuss the differences in which the topic is framed and presented in public history versus academic scholarship.
