Session Abstract
The Voting Rights Acts turns fifty years old in 2015. This panel will consider the history and prospects of the law--paying particular attention to its impact among disparate American voters and potential voters, the ways that it has shaped political power in the country, and the consequences of recent challenges to the potency and compass of this signal piece of civil rights legislation.
