Friday, January 2, 2015: 3:50 PM
Riverside Ballroom (Sheraton New York)
Pieter Judson will focus his remarks on the difficulties of writing a general history of central Europe, a task on which he is currently embarked from two different perspectives: that of a volume in a series that is fairly conventionally defined (the Cambridge series of histories of nations and empires) and a more unconventional effort to understand the central European experience in more subjective, cultural, and contingent terms.
