Using the Tool

Along with Michael Smith, Matt Klemm will describe the learning outcomes they have observed as students have piloted the tool in several different classes. They will highlight the key elements of cognitive and technological scaffolding necessary for the students to use the tool most effectively, as well as the rewards and challenges associated with evaluating what the students are producing in the tagging process. Finally, they will discuss some of the ways the tool could be scaled up for use in larger classes than the ones that they have taught.
