Scholastic Disputation and the Medieval Public Sphere

Discussion of the formation of public opinion must take into account not just the knowledge that was taught, but how it was taught. Drawing on examples from the 12th to the 14th centuries, Novikoff's contribution will highlight scholastic disputation's contribution to the creation of a medieval public sphere.
