Things That Keep Me Up at Night: Digital and the Future of Publishing
Friday, January 3, 2014: 8:30 AM
Thurgood Marshall Ballroom North (Marriott Wardman Park)
MPublishing is at the forefront of innovation in digital publishing, experimenting with new models in producing and disseminating scholarly work. These efforts have helped us identify the opportunities created by digital publishing, but also made us acutely aware of some of the challenges it presents. I will explore the difficulties of balancing experimental efforts with more traditional methods of publishing, the difficulties of developing sustainable models and formats, the constantly shifting landscape of digital media, and the other things that keep me, and others working in the field, up at night.
