Session Abstract

Of the thirty-four AP courses offered by the College Board, three of them are in the discipline of history:  AP US History, AP European History, and the more recently added AP World History.  What role has the AP played in shaping high school history?  Does the AP program fit in all secondary schools?  Why is there a movement to abolish it in some independent schools?  Is an AP history class really like a college course?  Who decides what is on the exam and how the course is structured?  What is the purpose and likely outcome of the redesign process in A.P. U.S. History?  Come participate in this roundtable discussion about the past, present, and future of the AP in History.
